AI courses in Singapore (2026): how to choose and fund one
The best AI course in Singapore depends on what you want to be able to do afterwards. For AI literacy, start free with AI Singapore's 90-minute AI for Everyone. For workplace productivity, take a subsidised short course such as NTUC LearningHub's AI-Ready SG. For agentic AI, pick a hands-on course that has you build and supervise a real agent. For a career switch, look at full-time routes such as AI Singapore's apprenticeship or a SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme. SkillsFuture subsidies of up to 70% (up to 90% from age 40) and the S$500 SkillsFuture Credit cover much of the fee for listed courses.

What is the best AI course in Singapore?
There is no single best course, because "AI course" covers everything from a 90-minute free introduction to a nine-month paid apprenticeship. Choose by the outcome you need, then check funding. SkillsFuture alone supports around 1,600 AI-related courses, taken up for 137,000 training places by more than 105,000 people last year, according to the Ministry of Education's reply in Parliament on 3 February 2026, so the problem is choosing, not finding.
| Your goal | Where to start | Commitment | How it is usually funded |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI literacy: understand what AI is and is not | AI Singapore's AI for Everyone | About 90 minutes, online | Free |
| Workplace productivity: use AI tools well in your current job | NTUC LearningHub AI-Ready SG; IMDA's sector AI-fluency programmes for accountancy and legal | About 32 to 40 hours for AI-Ready SG | Course fee subsidies plus SkillsFuture Credit |
| Agentic AI: design, build or supervise agents that act | A hands-on course such as those listed below, judged against the checklist | Varies; check the outline | Course fee subsidies plus SkillsFuture Credit, where listed |
| Technical role or career switch | AI Singapore's AI Apprenticeship Programme; SkillsFuture Career Transition Programmes; IMDA's Company-Led Training | Months, often full-time | Stipend or salary, the Mid-Career Credit, training allowance |
| Train a whole team on its own work | An in-house workshop built on your documents and workflows | Shaped to the team | Quoted per engagement |

Free and low-cost AI courses for AI literacy
The best free starting point is AI Singapore's AI for Everyone (AI4E), a free course of about 90 minutes on what AI is and where it is used. AI Singapore's own FAQ confirms it is free: you create an AI Talent Development account and enrol.
AI Singapore: AI for Everyone and LearnAI
- Provider: AI Singapore (AISG), which also runs the apprenticeship below.
- Format: online, about 90 minutes for AI4E.
- Fee: free. A free LearnAI membership opens all of AI Singapore's free courses; a paid premium membership adds courses such as AI for Industry (AI4I).
- Best for: anyone who wants the vocabulary before choosing anything longer.
So, are AI Singapore courses free? AI4E is, and so is the basic LearnAI membership; the deeper courses sit behind the premium tier. A literacy course will not change how you work on Monday, but it makes every later choice easier, and it costs nothing but an evening.
AI courses for workplace productivity
For people who want to use AI tools well in the job they already have, the best fit is a short, subsidised course with exercises close to their work, or a sector programme built with their professional body.
NTUC LearningHub: AI-Ready SG
- Format: a pathway of one AI skills course (about 16 hours) and one human skills course (about 16 hours), plus about 8 hours of self-paced learning; optional courses add more.
- Fee: listed at S$300.00 to S$872.20 before GST for 32 to 40 hours, on the page's stated basis of individually sponsored Singaporeans aged 40 and above. Other groups pay different amounts.
- Funding: SkillsFuture Credit can offset the fee, and NTUC union members may apply for Union Training Assistance Programme funding.
- Extra: the page says completing a qualifying AI course brings six months of complimentary access to eligible AI tools, for eligible Singapore Citizens.
IMDA's sector AI-fluency programmes
Under the National AI Impact Programme, IMDA lists AI-fluency programmes run with industry bodies: AIxTech by AI Singapore, AIxAccountancy by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, and AIxLegal by the Singapore Academy of Law and by the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association. If you work in one of those professions, check with your professional body first; a programme built for your field beats a generic one. Our piece on the AI-bilingual workforce target explains the thinking behind them.
Which course is best to learn agentic AI?
The best agentic AI course is one where you build or configure a working agentic AI system yourself, connect it to real tools, and decide which of its actions need a person's approval. Agentic AI means systems that plan and take actions over several steps, so a course that only teaches prompting is not an agentic AI course, whatever its title says.
First decide which kind of agentic AI course you need:
- For non-technical professionals: what agents can do safely, how to describe a workflow so an agent can run it, where approvals belong, and how to supervise output. Look for no-code exercises on realistic tasks.
- For builders: agent frameworks, tool calling, connecting tools through the Model Context Protocol, multi-agent patterns, testing and monitoring. Expect to write code.
Agentic AI courses listed in Singapore
These six courses came up in Singapore's search results for agentic AI courses on 16 October 2026. The descriptions are taken from each provider's own course listing. Fees, subsidies and intake dates are on each page and change often, so confirm them there.
| Course | Provider | Who it is for, as the provider describes it | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Certified Agentic AI Professional | Singapore University of Technology and Design, listed on MySkillsFuture | Professionals who want applied skills to design, build and orchestrate AI agents for workplace use cases | See the listing |
| Advanced Certificate in Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) | SMU Academy | Building, deploying and governing AI agents for business applications | Certificate; see the course page |
| Agentic AI Foundations for Non-Technical Professionals | Temasek Polytechnic | Professionals with no coding background, aimed at productivity and business process automation | Hands-on, 2 days |
| Architecting Agentic AI Solutions | NUS-ISS | Professionals who will lead the architecture, design and implementation of AI solutions | 4 days |
| SCTP Agentic AI Specialist | BELLS Tech | Career switchers with little or no AI background, as a SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme | Entry-level programme |
| WSQ Agentic AI Courses | Tertiary Courses | Designing, building and deploying multi-agent AI systems | WSQ-certified |
Listed as the providers described them on 16 October 2026. Inclusion is not a recommendation, and Olano has no relationship with any of these providers.
To find more, search MySkillsFuture for "agentic AI" and filter by funding. Before enrolling, check that the outline covers at least these five things: tools and actions (not only chat), human approval checkpoints, handling credentials and personal data, testing what the agent must not do, and governance. On the last point, Singapore has a free reference that any good course should mention: IMDA's Model AI Governance Framework for Agentic AI.
Can I learn agentic AI for free?
Partly. The free courses we verified for this guide are introductions to AI in general, not agentic AI specifically. A sensible free route is AI4E for the foundations, then IMDA's framework document, which is free and sets out agent risks and controls in detail, then building one small agent on a task from your own work. A structured, subsidised course is worth paying for when you need feedback on what you built.
AI courses for a technical role or a career switch
For a move into an AI or technical role, the strongest routes are full-time and come with a stipend, a salary or job-placement support rather than just a certificate.
AI Singapore: AI Apprenticeship Programme (AIAP)
- Format: full-time, in person, on a 6-month or 9-month track; applicants are matched to a track after assessment.
- Pay: a monthly stipend, listed on the AIAP page as S$4,000 when checked.
- Who it is for: Singapore Citizens with intermediate programming skills and machine-learning experience. Apprentices must leave any full-time job.
SkillsFuture Career Transition Programmes (SCTP)
SCTPs provide training for up to 12 months plus employment facilitation, according to the Ministry of Education (3 March 2026). More than 100 new SCTPs launched in 2025 in high-demand areas such as AI. NTUC LearningHub, for example, has SCTP pages for an Associate AI/ML Developer and an AI Operations Specialist. Outcomes are respectable but not guaranteed: of 8,000 learners who completed an ICT-related SCTP between June 2022 and March 2025, 44% found new roles within six months (MOE, 7 April 2026).
IMDA: Company-Led Training (TeSA)
Under the TechSkills Accelerator, IMDA's Company-Led Training programme has companies hire fresh and mid-career professionals and train them on the job for tech roles, including AI. You apply to the companies directly, and you are paid a salary while you train.
Is there an AI course offered by SkillsFuture? How funding works
SkillsFuture does not run courses itself; it funds courses run by training providers, which are listed on MySkillsFuture. Around 1,600 of them are AI-related. The support depends on your age:
| Support | Who gets it | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Course fee subsidies | Singaporeans, on SkillsFuture-funded courses | Up to 70% of the course fee |
| SkillsFuture Credit (opening) | Singaporeans aged 25 and above | S$500 to offset what the subsidy leaves |
| Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy | Singaporeans aged 40 and above | Up to 90% of the course fee |
| SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) | Singaporeans aged 40 and above | S$4,000 for a curated set of substantive courses; MOE says it generally covers the out-of-pocket fees of most SCTPs |
| Mid-Career Training Allowance | Singaporeans aged 40 and above in eligible long-form training | 50% of average income over the last 12 months, capped at S$3,000 a month, for up to 24 months in a lifetime |
Sources: MOE parliamentary replies of 25 September 2025, 12 January 2026 and 24 February 2026, checked 16 October 2026.
A worked illustration, assuming the maximum subsidy applies: a course with a S$1,000 full fee would leave a 30-year-old about S$300 to pay after a 70% subsidy, which the S$500 Credit covers; a 45-year-old would pay about S$100 after a 90% subsidy, which the Credit also covers. Real subsidies depend on the course and your eligibility, and GST is charged on top, so check the course page.
What changed in 2026. The Ministry of Manpower announced on 3 March 2026 that people who take selected SkillsFuture AI courses would get six months of free access to premium AI tools, rolling out in the second half of 2026, and that SkillsFuture Singapore and Workforce Singapore would merge into one statutory board. MOE had also said in 2025 that the training allowance would extend to part-time long-form training from early 2026. Funding rules move, so treat the table as a starting point and confirm on MySkillsFuture before you enrol.
How to judge an AI course before you pay
Judge a course by what you will be able to do the week after it ends, not by its certificate. Three questions sort most of them:
- Is it hands-on, on material like yours? Exercises on generic examples rarely transfer. The best courses have you work on your own documents or tasks, or on realistic ones from your field.
- Is there an assessment of real work? A quiz proves attendance. A built workflow, a working agent or a reviewed project proves skill.
- What can you do afterwards, specifically? If the outline cannot finish the sentence "after this course you will be able to...", keep looking.
Two more checks matter for AI in particular. The course should be recent, because tools from two years ago are not the tools you will use. And it should cover data: what personal data may go into which tool under the PDPA.
Common mistakes when choosing an AI course
- Buying the longest course first. Start with a free introduction, then decide.
- Choosing by tool name. A course built around one product dates quickly.
- Training people months before they use it. Skills fade without practice; time training close to real use.
- Sending one person to train everyone. Second-hand training rarely carries the hands-on part.
Training a whole team on its own work
Public courses train individuals on general material. When the goal is a team working differently, the stronger option is a workshop built on that team's own documents and recurring tasks, so the exercises are the work.
That is what Olano's AI training does, and since it is our own service, read this as a disclosure as much as a recommendation. We run hands-on workshops for teams of roughly 4 to 30, in person or remote, on your own material; PDPA-aware use is covered from the first exercise; and you keep a written playbook of the prompts, workflows, data boundaries and escalation rules the team built. It is available on its own or alongside an agent build. Two limits: it is a private workshop quoted per engagement, not an SSG-registered public course, so if a SkillsFuture-creditable certificate is what you need, MySkillsFuture is the right place to look; and it teaches your team's workflows, not a career change.
FAQ
What is the best AI course in Singapore?
It depends on the goal. For AI literacy, AI Singapore's free AI for Everyone; for workplace productivity, a subsidised short course such as NTUC LearningHub's AI-Ready SG or your profession's AI-fluency programme; for agentic AI, a hands-on course where you build and supervise an agent; for a career switch, AI Singapore's apprenticeship or a SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme.
Are AI Singapore courses free?
AI for Everyone (AI4E) is free, and so is the basic LearnAI membership, which opens AI Singapore's free courses. Deeper courses such as AI for Industry come with a paid premium membership. The AI Apprenticeship Programme is not a fee-paying course: apprentices receive a monthly stipend.
Is there an AI course offered by SkillsFuture?
SkillsFuture funds courses rather than running them. Around 1,600 AI-related courses from training providers are supported and listed on MySkillsFuture, with course fee subsidies of up to 70% (up to 90% from age 40) and the SkillsFuture Credit to offset the rest.
Which course is best to learn agentic AI?
One where you build or configure a working agent, connect it to real tools and decide which actions need human approval. Non-technical professionals should look for no-code exercises on realistic tasks; builders should expect code, tool calling, the Model Context Protocol and testing. Check the outline covers approvals, data handling and governance.
Can I learn agentic AI for free?
Partly. Free courses such as AI4E cover AI foundations rather than agents specifically. IMDA's Model AI Governance Framework for Agentic AI is free to read and explains agent risks and controls, and building one small agent on your own task is the best free practice. A subsidised course adds structure and feedback.
Is an agentic AI course worth it?
Yes, if you will build, buy or supervise agents in the next few months and the course is hands-on. No, if it only teaches prompting under a new name, or if nothing in your work will use it soon, because skills fade without practice. Subsidies and the SkillsFuture Credit lower the cost of finding out.
